This pattern is based on the pentagon and decagon division. It is one of two most simple patterns of this division. Merging these simple patterns together will produce a whole array of new and complicated patterns. This pattern will also form shapes that have proportions of the Golden Ratio. It is believed that patterns based on the pentagon and decagon first appeared around the tenth century in Baghdad.
